Albion Match Postponed
27 February 2010
After
a 10 am pitch inspection at Cliftonhill, the Albion Rovers v Berwick
Rangers match has been postponed due to the surface having up to two
inches of water lying on it. The match
has been provisionally re-scheduled for Tuesday March 9th, subject
to SFL approval.

Cropley Signs
27 February 2010
Twenty-year-old
midfielder Jordan Cropley has been signed by the Berwick Rangers
until the end of the season. Cropley played as a trialist at Elgin
recently after being released by Hibernian and has been training
with the club His Dad, Alex, was a stalwart in the Hibs team of the
early 70’s before going on to play for Arsenal, Aston Villa,
Newcastle United (loan), Toronto Blizzard and Portsmouth. Jordan
played for a Hibs XI at Berwick this season in a pre-season
friendly.

New Signing
18 February 2010
Berwick Rangers have signed 24 year old midfielder Jay Shields who
had been with Cowdenbeath this season. This will be Jay’s second
stint at Berwick as he was previously on loan from Hibernian in
early 2005/6 season. He returned to Hibs and made 7 starts in the
1st X1 at right back and was then loaned to Dundee. He then signed
for Morton in August 2007 before joining the ‘Blue Brazil’ at
Central Park in Jan 2008.
Two Match Ban
18 February 2010
Paul Currie has incurred a 2
game ban after his ordering off against Forfar on 13th February. He
gets an automatic 1 game for the red card then misses the game at
Coatbridge on 27th Feb as he has passed the 18 point barrier.

Berwick Add McCaldon

Berwick Rangers have added
goalkeeper Ian McCaldon to their squad on a permanent basis after
the 35 year old provided cover for Mark Peat recently, with back up
shot-stopper Stevie Ellison out injured. McAldon previously played
for Livingston, St Mirren, Oxford, Chester and Peterhead as well as
having a short spell in Australia.

temporary transfer from Stenhousemuir.

Quiz Night II

Another quiz night is to be held by the Supporters’ Club at the
Black & Gold on Friday 19th March, the night before the home Elgin
City match. Teams of four at £3 per person are invited. 7.30 pm for
8 pm start. Come along, test your brain, and have a good laugh at the
same time. All welcome.

Peter McMahon has been released by mutual consent. Former Falkirk
left back McMahon signed on at Berwick in the summer of 2008;
however he has spent the majority of this season on loan at

The loan deal for young
defender Harry McGregor from Dunfermline Athletic has been extended
for another six weeks. Due to the severe weather Harry was unable to
get involved at all during the initial four week spell.

A Month Without Football
3 January 2010
What looked to be a busy festive
period on the playing front turned out to be football free due to
the wintery conditions.
The match at Forfar Athletic on 19th December was called off
due to a frozen pitch, along with the rescheduled fixture for
Tuesday 29th.
The Boxing Day fixture at Annan Athletic was called off early
with snow forecast, and the home fixture with Livingston on 2nd
January was called off after an early morning pitch inspection.
Next match on Saturday 9th January against Stranraer at
Shielfield Park and here's hoping! |

purchased 100 seats to kick-start the redevelopment of Shielfield Park,
current donations received have brought the total seats purchased to
500.
With
the main stand seating capacity currently at 1237, we would like to give
you, a valued supporter, the chance to give continued financial support
to help your club complete the renewal of the main stand seating, the
first phase of the Shielfield Park Redevelopment Strategy, bringing the
stadium into line with present day Health & Safety guidelines.

Berwick Rangers have announced Danish sports brand Hummel as the
club's new official kit supplier for the next two years, commencing
season 2009/2010. Hummel will be supplying strips to the designs
voted for by fans earlier this year, with delivery expected early in
