The Berwick Rangers Football Club is a unique football club due to the fact that it is the only Scottish Football League club with its home ground in England.

The Berwick Rangers FC Supporters' Club, originally formed on 3rd November 1927, has over the years raised much needed funds in support of the town's football club. When Berwick Rangers FC went into administration in 1991, Sheila Stoddart, John Hush and Peter McAskill formed ‘The Friends of Berwick Rangers’ group. Its purpose was to raise money through donations from around the town to help stave off the threat of liquidation.
Creditors let Rangers survive.

We Are Here    When the club entered administration, the then directors led by chairman David Cochrane, sold the lease of the club's football ground, Shielfield Park, to Gordon Grant, a greyhound racing promoter for £10,000, on the understanding that as soon as money was available it would be returned to the football club. Unfortunately, this promise was reneged upon.

Berwick Rangers Supporters Club was then reformed. Peter McAskill, along with John Hush and Conrad Turner started up the BRFC Supporters Club Weekly Football Ticket Scheme on 28th March 1992. This is still in operation to this day. The hugely successful scheme has handed over £273,500 to Berwick Rangers since its re-formation. This is a testament to the sterling work carried out by the supporters club committee, the agents who sell tickets, and the general public who have subscribed to the scheme throughout the years. All deserve a huge vote of thanks for their efforts, as without it, there would be no football club.

During 1994, the supporters club committee, along with other good friends of the football club, including Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council gave interest free loans to enable the lease of the ground to be bought back for £55,000. This success resulted in a new 25-year lease being granted to the supporters club from March 1996. During 1996/97 all interest free loans were repaid. This was a remarkable achievement by the hard working committee.

In November 2008, a lack of confidence on the field and in the future stability of the club led to a consortium fronted the Supporters’ Club offering to purchase the majority shareholding of the chairman Robert Wilson and his fellow directors Craig Forsyth and Robert Darling. Bill Parkin, chairman of the Supporters' Club said: “The time is right for some changes to be made to the structure of the club. We really need to get fans involved at all levels, which is critical for small clubs like Berwick Rangers.”

On Tuesday 27th January 2009, with the offer accepted and negotiations finally concluded, a new board of directors was elected with the Supporters’ Club and the Supporters’ Trust now fully represented. The football club was about to embark on a new era both on and off the park.

About Us
Meet the Committee
Bill Parkin – Chairman Tommy Matthews
Bill is the managing director of SWP Engineering Services Ltd and a lifelong supporter of Berwick Rangers. Despite missing a few years of going to games, when in the merchant navy and during 10 years of competitive rowing, Bill has attended most games since 1990. He joined the supporters' club committee with the view of assisting the football club in any way he could. Bill has also been an agent for the weekly draw scheme since 1990.     Joined the committee in 1974 and has done a lot of work on the old football pitch, as well as the new one. He also did work on the old Black and Gold before the present one was built. Tommy still sells the 50-50 raffle tickets at home matches and is always available to help the club out in any way he can.
Rodelle Purvis - Secretary Neil Skelly
Rodelle is the secretary of the supporters' club and also a co-founding member of the Borders branch. She has been a Berwick Rangers supporter for more years than she can remember. A quiet and respectable member of the committee.     After supporting Berwick Rangers as a youngster, Neil renewed his interest about 15 years ago and soon after became a member of the supporters club. He used to travel to all away games but now just manages home games because of work and family commitments. Neil is also an agent for the Weekly Scheme.
Neil Simpson - Treasurer Alan Meins
Neil joined the committee as treasurer in April 2008, continuing a long family tradition of service to the football club; his father and grandfather having previously served on the committee. Neil was previously the BRFC treasurer for eight years and brings a wealth of financial expertise to the committee.     Alan is an agricultural worker and has supported Berwick Rangers for over 25 years. He has an ambition that all affiliated supporters associations join together and make the club stronger so that we can progress both on and off the pitch.
Conrad Turner Derek Purvis
Conrad joined the newly formed Supporters' Club in early 1992 and was given the task of setting up the very successful Weekly Scheme. He was also asked to become commercial manager for the football club the then chairman, Roy McDowell, and still holds that position today.     Co-founder of the Borders branch of the Supporters' Club and a Berwick Rangers supporter for over 40 years. Enjoys all things football - except playing it!
Alan Bell Len Eyre
Alan was born in Ripon, Yorkshire, moving to Berwick in 1972, and has been a supporter of the club ever since. As well as being a committee member of the supporters' club he is also the football club historian and a member of the match day programme team.     Len is a partner in E.P Electrical and is a long term supporter of Berwick Rangers. He joined the supporters' club committee with the intention of raising money for the football club through organising dinners, functions and golf competitions. He also intends to help with the maintenance programme of Shielfield Park.
